Mary Poppins - International - Nick Apivor
Filed in: International

Nick Apivor's combined set up for Mary Poppins at the Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
"As I was the only percussionist I needed to cover both percussion 1 and 2 books."

"As I was the only percussionist I needed to cover both percussion 1 and 2 books. This was a challenge so compromises needed to be made. Three triangle parts were played on one triangle, crotale parts were played on the glockenspiel, finger cymbal parts were played on a triangle. The use of electronics (MalletKAT and Roland Octapad) really helped make it possible to cover most of the cues.
This was an extremely fun show to play. The music is well written and the percussion is so integral to the show."
