Katie Steinhauer - A Year with Frog and Toad

Here is Katie’s setup for StageWorks Fresno’s production of A Year with Frog and Toad.

“This is my Sonor kit. I’ve got 10” and 14" toms, an 18" bass drum and a 14" Pacific Maple Snare. I'm using a 20" Zildjian K Custom Dry Ride, an A Custom ReZo 16" Crash and a pair of 14" Mastersound HiHats. I also have a Sabian 8" splash. I use DW 5000 hardware with Gibraltar auxiliary mounts. I’ve got LP cowbells and medium, high and piccolo Jam Blocks. I also have a Miller Machine and set of Treeworks Chimes. I use all Evans heads and Vic Firth Sticks, Brushes and Mallets.

As for the pink rims. I custom made those myself. I love the look of hot pink and black. Seeing as no one makes hot pink and black drums, I decided to decorate mine with a little hot pink flair! Since then, it has become my calling card!”

Katie has been playing in pit orchestras for 10 years and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. She has played for shows such as: Oklahoma!, You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, Brigadoon, Cinderella, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, Thoroughly Modern Millie and many others. Besides theater, Katie is an active drum instructor and freelance musician around the central valley of California.

Katie will be playing drums and percussion on the upcoming National/Japan Tour of Bring It On: The Musical. The tour launch’s on January 21, 2014 at The Grand Opera House in Macon, Georgia.
